Associate Professor David Wiesenfeld is a Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with over 30 years clinical experience. His clinical interests are oral cancer care, dentoalveolar surgery, the management of impacted teeth, the surgical correction of dento-facial deformity and dental implants for the replacement of missing teeth.

He qualified in Dentistry at the University of Melbourne in 1976, completed his specialist training in 1980 and had three years of further training in Britain, firstly in Glasgow as Commonwealth Supernumerary Registrar and subsequently in London. He commenced specialist practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1983. Currently he is Director of The Head and Neck Tumour Stream at The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre; and has held senior clinical appointments at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and the University of Melbourne. He has been appointed to Visiting Professor positions at Universities in Bristol, Texas, Nebraska, and Cleveland.

Mr Wiesenfeld has published more than 70 articles in scientific literature and has contributed to four text books. He is actively involved in professional and educational affairs, both nationally and internationally.
