Dr David Wechsler graduated from the University of Sydney with Honours in medicine in 1997, trained as a general doctor at Concord hospital and then as an Ophthalmologist at Sydney Eye hospital and Liverpool Hospital. In 2006-2007 David undertook further training overseas in the field of glaucoma at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and Calderdale / Huddersfield in the UK.
He is a visiting consultant at Concord hospital in Sydney, and Senior Lecturer at Sydney University. He is actively involved in teaching the next generation of Ophthalmologists. He has published articles and reviews articles for scientific papers, is involved in clinical research, attends and presents at local and international scientific meetings.
David performs and teaches cataract and glaucoma surgery, and is one of the few specialists in NSW to perform tube-shunt surgery for severe glaucoma.
He is a clinical lecturer at the School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University, and also consults at the Macquarie University Eye Clinic.
