Dr David Rankin graduated with honours from Sydney University. He subsequently undertook his residency at the then new Westmead Hospital and over five years gained experience in a number of fields including internal medicine and paediatrics. Following a period of locum work, in 1985 he and his wife, also a general practitioner, took over a long established practice in Windsor NSW, eventually amalgamating with another group practice.
