Dr Michail's interests include general respiratory and sleep disorders, lung cancer, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension. At Westmead Hospital he performs advanced bronchoscopy including stenting, diathermy and laser procedures. He is the Clinical Lead of the Western Sydney Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Group and is the the Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Service at Westmead Hospital. Additionally, he is the Clinical Lead for Bronchoscopy and Interventional Respiratory Medicine at Westmead Public Hospital.
Sleep Medicine is also a keen interest with experience in establishing Sydney's first clinical service for home based diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, as well as traditional polysomnography based management. Within Sleep Medicine, in addition to Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, he has particular interest in Central Sleep Apnoea and Narcolepsy.
