Dr David Russell is a cardiologist specialising in multi-modality cardiac imaging. He completed his medical degree at the University of Tasmania, and his specialist training at the Royal Hobart Hospital and the Austin Hospital in Melbourne. He has completed both a cardiac MRI fellowship (St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London), and an advanced echocardiology fellowship (St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne). He has held a staff specialist cardiology appointment at the Royal Hobart Hospital since June 2018, and is a senior clinical lecturer with the University of Tasmania.
Dr David Russell is comfortable with all aspects of adult cardiology, and specialises in diagnosis and management of ischaemic heart disease, valvular abnormalities (with a special interest in aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation), and heart failure.
