David graduated from the University of Queensland in 1982, after which he worked in hospitals in Queensland for five years. He ran his own practice in Port Macquarie for nearly 30 years until relocating to Canberra in 2016. He has held senior positions in GP organisations and GP training. He has developed a strong interest in skin cancer management and prevention during the last 30 years. Outside of his clinical work, David plays tennis, has a golf handicap of 13 and is the father of 6 children.
