Dr Darren Shepherd is a Consultant General Paediatrician and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He has 12 years of experience of working in paediatrics and has been a Consultant Paediatrician for 5 years. He completed his training at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network in 2013 and since then has worked in remote and rural communities throughout NSW and Queensland. Darren has also completed a Masters of Public Health via UNSW. Darren is interested in caring for children from newborns till teenagers with simple and complex medical problems and believes in guiding the child and family unit through challenges to optimize both physical and psychosocial outcomes. He has an interest in newborns and respiratory illnesses. When not working Darren enjoys climbing, mountaineering, diving and travelling. He has climbed in New Zealand, European Alps, South America and the giant Himalayas of Nepal. He also has two boys which keep him busy and active in any free time.
