Dr Chen is a specialist knee surgeon, founding partner and the Managing Director of Sydney Knee Specialists. His practice covers all areas of knee surgery. Dr Chen has an interest in both minimally invasive knee surgery and complex revision surgery, and incorporates the latest technology into his arthroplasty and reconstructive practice. Having completed a number of knee subspecialty fellowships, being actively involved in clinical research and performing a large volume of cases annually, Dr Chen is well positioned as a leading knee surgeon in Australia. Dr Chen operates at St George Private Hospital, St Luke’s Private Hospital, Kareena Private Hospital and Canterbury Public Hospital.
Dr Chen is an honours graduate in Medicine from the University of Sydney. He completed his advanced AOA training in orthopaedic surgery and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004.
Dr Chen was the Clinical Fellow in Lower Limb Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto Canada in 2005. This followed with the appointment as the International Arthroplasty Fellow at the prestigious Harvard Medical School, Boston USA in 2006. Whilst abroad, Dr Chen also spent time in the Arthroplasty Unit at Mayo Clinic, Rochester USA. He undertook a fellowship in arthroscopic knee reconstruction under the teaching of Dr Leo Pinczewski prior to commencing clinical practice. He is a fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
