Clinical Interests
Danni’s areas of expertise include management of the ex-premature infant, infant settling, colic, child developmental and social/behavioural concerns, feeding/nutrition issues, asthma, eczema, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, bedwetting/other continence issues. She also deals with a diverse range of acute and chronic/complex problems in children and adolescents.
Background and Experience
Danni Bao graduated with honours in medicine from the University of Melbourne in 1998. With a passion for paediatrics from the beginning, she started specialist paediatric training in 2000 immediately after her internship, and has worked for the National Health Service in the United Kingdom (2001) and as a Senior Paediatric Registrar in Darwin during which time she completed a Master of Public Health (2006). Danni obtained her Fellowship in General Paediatrics in 2007.
After completing her training she gained experience working in both public and private paediatrics and neonates in Ballarat and Melbourne, educating and mentoring medical students and junior doctors. In 2013, Danni undertook a Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Neurology in Vancouver, Canada.
She currently works as a consultant in outpatient clinics at the Royal Children’s and Monash Children’s Hospitals.
Practice Philosophy
Optimising health of the body, mind and soul are important to Danni and she feels privileged to be able to care in this way for her patients and families. As part of her practice, she collaborates closely with families, allied health professionals, teachers/educators, GPs, and paediatric subspecialists to provide the best care for each child. With two children of her own, Danni understands each parent’s wish for every child to reach their full potential in health and wellbeing.
