Dr Dan Worthley graduated in medicine from the University of Adelaide and trained at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. He completed a PhD in colorectal cancer research through the University of Queensland in Brisbane and worked as a consultant Gastroenterologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. During this time he also completed a Masters in Public Health through the University of Queensland. He subsequently pursued a post-doctoral fellowship at Columbia University in New York City, again studying digestive cancer. Dr Worthley returned to Adelaide in 2014 to take up a position as Principal Research Fellow University of Adelaide/ SAHMRI and consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He is a general gastroenterologist, performing endoscopy and colonoscopy with a particular interest in the prevention, diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal cancer.
