Dr Kennedy graduated from Queensland University in 1984 and started in private practice in 1993. He has worked in various settings around the world including Bristol and London. He is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Mater Adults Hospital. He is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He is currently the Secretary of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons.
