Mr Damien Holdaway graduated from Melbourne University in 1993, obtaining Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2000 in general surgery and 2005 for vascular / endovascular surgery.

Damien’s sub-specialty training in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery included rotations at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, focusing on open vascular surgery and management of vascular trauma and Frankston and Box Hill Hospitals with the focus on endoluminal aortic stent grafting, carotid stenting and lower leg revascularization.

Damien then transferred to Alexander Hospital, Brisbane, the largest vascular unit in Australia with the focus on major vascular trauma, renal transplantation, dialysis access and open aortic surgery and the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, with a focus on renal transplantation, peripheral endovascular interventions and paediatric vascular surgery.

He then completed cardio vascular training at the Alfred Hospital in heart and lung surgery including heart transplantation, exposure to cardio pulmonary bypass procedures and great vessel exposure in the chest. Preceding fellowship in abdominal, breast and cancer surgery including 6 months in England.
