Dr Soo received her medical training at Cambridge University and King’s College London. She worked for several years in the UK before migrating to Australia in 1989. In 2002 she became Practice Principal of IGP. Her clinical interests include HIV medicine (s100 prescriber), hepatitis B and C, transgender health, and drug & alcohol medicine. Dr Soo was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2015 Queen's Birthday Honours List.
