Chris Yates graduated from Medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2002 and completed his specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Western Hospital. He completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne investigating steroid induced diabetes in recent kidney transplant recipients. He then undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Oxford studying endocrine tumours. He is now employed as an Endocrinologist at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Western Hospital and maintains his involvement in clinical research in the fields of diabetes, pituitary disease and osteoporosis at the University of Melbourne. He is actively involved in teaching medical students and specialists in training.
He consults in the areas of general endocrinology, diabetes and osteoporosis and is an active member of the Australian Diabetes Society and the Endocrine Society of Australia.
