Dr Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Bond University in 2014.
Prior to that, he was a physiotherapist, graduating with Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago in 2002 and then a Masters in Musculoskeletal in Sports Medicine in 2005. He has worked in the public and private sector, managed a private practice for 8 years, with an interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, acupuncture and trigger points, occupational rehabilitation, back and neck pain management.
Since attaining his MBBS in 2014, Chris has worked predominantly at the Gold Coast University Hospital and Health Service for the last 3 years, and has completed the IOC Diploma in Sports Medicine, the RANZCOG Certificate of Women’s Health, the ACEM Certificate in Emergency Medicine, and is currently completing the FPAA National Certificate in Sexual & Reproductive Health He worked as an Athlete Medical Post and Field of Play doctor at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016, and will be working as a Venue Medical Manager at the Commonwealth Games later this year.
Chris has a lovely demeanour, is a good listener, and loves food (both eating and cooking) and travel. He has an interest in sports and musculoskeletal medicine, occupational medicine and work-place evaluations, pregnancy-related care (both antenatal and post-partum), women’s health, men’s health, emergency medicine, weight loss, sexual health, chronic disease management, geriatric medicine, palliative care, skin checks and minor procedures.
