Christopher Scarff graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1992. His residency in General Medicine at PANCH was followed by anaesthesia training at St Vincent’s Hospital after which he took Fellowship in the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2003. Christopher pursued further training in Critical Care Medicine in the Nuffield Department of Anaesthesia in Oxford and completed the European Diploma of Intensive Care Medicine in 2005. Christopher holds public appointments at St Vincent’s Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
LCDR Scarff was commissioned to the RANR in 1998. He has deployed to Timor L’Este with 5RAR and has served on a number of Her Majesty’s Australian vessels including the STS ENDEAVOUR. He is currently the ADF Delegate to the Victorian Branch of he Australian Resuscitation Council.
Christopher has a special interest in regional anaesthesia and has lectured at major meetings in Hong Kong and Melbourne.
His musical interests extend to the violin and bassoon.
When not working, Christopher can be found on the beaches of western Victoria either enjoying the surf or assisting in Water Safety for the Jan Juc nippers. After a time as a Life Guard during University, Christopher has combined his skills and now sits on the Medical Advisory Commitee for Surf Life-Saving Victoria.
