Dr Chris Neil conducted his undergraduate training through the University of Melbourne, with specialist cardiology training in Melbourne and Adelaide, where he also completed his PhD. He subsequently completed clinical and post-doctoral research fellowships in Aberdeen, Scotland, before returning home to a consultant post. Dr Neil leads heart failure services at Western Health, where he is Head of Coronary Care and Cardiac Ambulatory Care. He has expertise in all areas of general cardiology and non-invasive diagnostic cardiac imaging, together with subspecialty interests in heart failure, cardiomyopathies and cardiac magnetic resonance.
He also has clinical and research interests exercise and the cardiovascular patient and has honorary appointments at the University of Melbourne and Victoria University. Dr Neil is happy to be contacted directly by general practitioners and specialists to discuss patient management.
