Chris established the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit at Monash Medical Centre and was in private Obstetric practice until June 2011, specialising in the management of high risk pregnancies in particular women with medical problems such as heart disease, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and renal disease. Chris is a past President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and has been a member of many Boards and Committees.

She is currently a member of the Federal Governments Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC), a member of the National Specialist International Medical Graduate Committee of the Medical Board of Australia, a member of the Victorian Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity, Stillbirth Committee, and a board member of FIGO- The International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

She was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2010 for her contribution to Women’s Health
