Dr Mirakian completed her medical degree at Melbourne University in 1994. She completed completed a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is a Forensic Medical Officer for Qld Health where she now delivers the full range of forensic services. In 2015 she completed her Masters of Forensic Medicine and was accepted as a Clinical Forensic Medicine Fellow at the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and a Fellow of the Australian College of Legal Medicine.
Dr Mirakian continues to work part time in general practice as well as Currumbin Clinic and Pindara Hospital where she sits on the Executive Committee and Medical Advisory Committee respectively.
