Dr Thomas completed his MBBS from Hyderabad in India, He then completed his graduate diploma in child health from the University of Wits in South Africa. Going on to then achieve his Masters in child health from Austria. He has years of experience working by himself dealing with surgical cases in rural Australia. He had obtained his fellowship (FRACGP) in 2002. Since then he had had 12 years experience being a fellowship examiner, whilst also lecturing at Griffith University.
