Dr Catherine Swanson joined Kedron Wavell Medical Centre in 2008. Raised in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane Catherine attended Mt Alvernia College and completed her medical degree at the University of QLD. Catherine commenced her medical career at the Mater Hospital and gained experience in orthopaedics which was later expanded at both Cairns and Redcliffe hospitals before commencing general practice in 1999. With a keen interest in teaching the next breed of doctors Catherine has taught at the School of Medicine for both James Cook University and The University Qld. Catherine has a Master’s degree in Public Health and a certificate in skin cancer surgery. Whilst enjoying all areas of general practice Catherine’s special interests include musculoskeletal problems, minor trauma and skin cancer surgery Catherine loves the challenges of combining work, motherhood and trying to find time to ride her bike.
