Dr Catarina Ang brings with her years of experience and expertise to provide her patients with the best possible treatment and care.
Dr Ang works primarily in:
IVF and Fertility care. Minimally invasive surgery. Gynaecology and pelvic pain. Dr Ang completed her MBBS at Monash University in 1996. She began obstetrics and gynaecology training in 2000 at Southern Health after completing residencies in Australia and England.
Dr Ang took the post of clinical research fellow at the John Radcliffe Hospital and the University of Oxford. She then returned to Australia in 2006, taking a position at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne. Here, she performs advanced laparoscopic surgery, teaches future specialists and continues her clinical research. She is also head of Gynaecology Unit 1 at the Royal Women’s.
Dr Ang is involved in the education of trainees and medical students at the University of Melbourne and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), and is training director of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES) endoscopic training program at the Royal Women’s.
Her clinical interests are in the areas of endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, fertility and pelvic pain.
Dr Ang performs minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic myomectomies, treatment of all stages of endometriosis, division of adhesions, tubal surgery, release of entrapped ovaries and laparoscopic hysterectomies.
She operates at: Cabrini Hospital Brighton, Cabrini Hospital Malvern, Royal Women’s Hospital, Frances Perry House, The Avenue Hospital (IVF only) and Epworth Freemasons.
