Dr Simpson studied medicine at the University of Liverpool (UK) and, following a variety of hospital appointments, has worked in general practice since 1984. Dr Simpson has led several published scientific research projects, mainly concerning finding effective ways to implement evidence-based medicine effectively. He has been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He has been Medical Director of a District Health Authority and of a large Community Health Trust. In 1991 Dr Simpson was awarded the prestigious Health Service Management Award for leading the development of the largest drug misuse service in Europe. Carl originally came to Shell Cove in 2013 before briefly returning to the UK and has now happily returned to Australia and Shell Cove Family Health.
