Dr Bruce Steley established the Abbotsford Medical Practice in 1987 and is the practice owner and director.  After graduating from the University of NSW in 1980, he gained broad clinical experience at Sydney Hospital and other regional hospitals.  After traveling for a year he resumed hospital work in the United Kingdom, where he trained in adult medicine at The Royal Berkshire Hospital. 

On his return to Australia, he gained experience in child health at Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women. This included a 6 month term as paediatric registrar at Port Moresby Hospital in PNG.

He enjoys all aspects of general practice and family medicine with a particular interest in preventive health, chronic disease management and health education.> He has developed the "Mind over Matter" weight loss and health restoration program to assist patients to achieve their full potential for natural good health.

Bruce supervises registrars for the RACGP Training Program, and as a Clinical Associate of Sydney University, has been involved in the education of medical students for nearly 20 years.

Bruce enjoys a busy life with his wife and five children.  He loves sport, music and travel. He maintains his own well being with exercise, and the practise of meditation.
