Dr Ashford is a General Surgeon whose subspecialty practice is Head and Neck and Endocrine Surgery. This includes surgical treatment of Thyroid and Parathyroid disorders, salivary gland problems, skin cancer and surgery for neck, mouth and jaw cancer.
Originally a Dentist, Dr Ashford completed training in Oral Surgery before attending medical school. After completing his medical training, Dr Ashford completed a fellowship in Endocrine and Breast Surgery and then a second Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery in Canada which focused on microvascular reconstruction following cancer surgery. Dr Ashford is currently a Consultant Surgeon at both The Wollongong Hospital and Liverpool Hospital, and also works at both Figtree Private and St George Private Hospitals.
He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong and an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Western Sydney.
