Dr. Bharat is a consultant psychiatrist with a passion for providing excellent care to his patients. Over the last 17 years, Bharat has worked as a consultant Psychiatrist in Australia, Singapore, UK and India. Bharat works with people of different ethnicities and cultures in diverse settings that include:
Community, In-patient, Prison, Low and Medium Secure Hospitals, Teaching hospitals, Corporate Hospitals Rural areas. Bharat utilizes his acquired knowledge, experience, and skills and works collaboratively with patients and their families to achieve the best outcome. His focus on recovery and evidence based practice helps his patients understand their mental health issues as they take the first step towards their mental health recovery. Bharat works with people who can’t figure out how to take the first step towards their mental health recovery. He helps people who are struggling to get a grip on their negative emotions and thoughts and desperately want understanding support and guidance as they recover.
When patients work with Bharat they value his empathy and understanding, dedication, honesty, attention to detail and his kind, listening ear. Bharat believes that recovery is a lifelong journey that takes place each day, one step at a time. He is blessed & humbled to be there to support and assist his patients continue to reach for their goals.
Bharat has devoted his life to serving community, teaching and mastering the art of people relations. He has held leadership positions including Associate Medical Director for Devon Partnership Trust, NHS (UK), and Deputy Chief for Forensic Mental Health Services, IMH (Singapore) and Lead Psychiatrist for Youth Services. Currently, he is the Head of Youth Mental Health Service, Monash Health. Bharat also is involved in teaching and training, research, participating and facilitating clinical improvement processes and providing consultancy to different agencies and general physicians.
