Dr Behzad Rafiee (GP)

Following graduation from Tehran Medical School in Iran, Dr Behzad Rafiee arrived in Australia in 1988. His first experience with Australian health system was clinical attachment during a bridging course at Royal Brisbane Hospital. Dr Rafiee passed the last part of the Australian Medical Council exam in 1990 and started to work immediately at Ipswich General Hospital where he stayed for more than 2 years and gained a lot of experience in a variety of disciplines. He then moved to Holy Spirit Hospital ( Now Brisbane Private Hospital) and worked as a medical fellow. Meanwhile, Dr Rafiee was also involved in part time general practice. Later on, he started to work as a full time general practitioner and worked in a number of clinics including Taringa 7 Day Medical Practice that used to be a 24 hour medical centre at the time. Dr Rafiee passed the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners exam in 1995.

He has worked at Taringa Medical Practice for 18 years now. “It is a fantastic practice with excellent doctors, nursing staff and receptionists. We are lucky to have pharmacy, physiotherapy, podiatry, dietitians, dentists, cardiologist and audiology on site.”

In his spare time, Dr Rafiee enjoys gardening, reading, watching movies and socialising.
