Dr Basia (Barbara) Lowes is a highly trained, caring and empathetic female Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon working to provide individualised, compassionate and inclusive care that respects every woman’s unique story and health needs, at different stages of their life journey.

Basia is a fully qualified Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Sydney in 2010, having previously completed a Bachelor of Law with Honours. Her general medical training was completed through the Northern Sydney Local Health District, and she went on to specialist training in high-risk Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and The Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick. Basia completed an additional 2-year fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery accredited by the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society (AGES). She is also proficient in open and vaginal surgery, and holds a Masters degree in Advanced Gynaecological Surgery, as well as a Masters of Women’s Health Medicine. She offers up-to-date and evidenced-based care, including conservative, medical and surgical options tailored to individual needs.
