Dr Asiel Adan Sanchez joined Northside Clinic as a GP registrar in 2020. Asiel is a graduate from the University of Melbourne and completed their medical training in Melbourne’s west, working in emergency, psychiatry, general medicine, obstetrics and paediatrics. Born and raised in Mexico, Asiel speaks fluent Spanish and has worked extensively with migrant, culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Asiel is a member of the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine and has a special interest in HIV medicine, reproductive health, PrEP, mental health, trans and gender diverse health.
Outside of their clinical roles, Asiel is an academic at the University of Melbourne and holds teaching positions at Monash University and Deakin University. In their free time, they enjoy literature, poetry, music and travel.
