Dr Anton Thompson draws on his PhD in Zoology (University of Western Australia) to bring an evidence-based, scientific approach to his practice of medicine. Anton is a medical graduate from the University of Queensland and has spent the last 10 years refining his skills in the broad area that is General Practice. Anton currently splits his time as a GP at Capalaba with his other role as the House Doctor at a private hospital on the north side of Brisbane. He finds the benefit of the hospital work is that it keeps him intimately involved in up-to-date medical and surgical practices and a greater understanding of what patients with complex medical problems can expect to experience as they navigate their way through the health system. Anton also has a particular interest in counselling and has done further studies in this area to provide the counselling work when appropriate to do so.
Anton is a married Father of 4 children and enjoys family life as well as the practice of family medicine which he believes the Capalaba Medical Centre uniquely provides to this area.
