Professor Anthony O’Sullivan is Professor of Medicine at UNSW Medicine, Sydney. For the past 9 years, he has been the Program Authority (Head), head of curriculum, student affairs, and assessment, for the UNSW Medicine program. His educational research interests are the assessment of medical students, and the teaching and assessment of professionalism. He has a particular interest in portfolio examination and how it can help students’ develop reflective practice.
His biomedical research interests are the hormonal regulation of body composition and energy metabolism especially in pregnancy. Professor O’Sullivan has published widely in high-ranking journals in endocrinology and metabolism, as well as medical education journals.
Professor O’Sullivan is Head of the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at St George Hospital and Sutherland Hospitals, Sydney, Australia.
