Dr Simpson trained as a GP in city and rural Scotland, around Dundee and Perth. In 2003, she moved to Wollongong with her Australian husband, working initially at Gwynneville, then moving to IFMC when it opened in 2005. She works part-time while raising three daughters. Dr Simpson has experience in all areas of general practice, but particularly enjoys getting to know people and families over repeated visits, which she believe enables the provision of comprehensive holistic care through all aspects of the health journey - whether that be a persistent cough, travel advice, childhood immunisations, cancer support  etc. She has a particular interest in diet and lifestyle as the keys to good physical and mental health and is always happy to discuss these in the context of the patient’s personal goals and constraints. She is an Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong and is involved in teaching medical students from the University of Wollongong. Dr Simpson’s life outside of work is spent navigating the challenging, exhausting and amazing journey of parenthood whilst running, cooking, sewing and taking lots of beautiful photographs of it all.
