Dr Anne Hales graduated from UWA in Perth in 1990, and then spent 3 years working at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. She then went to the UK, where she worked doing a variety of hospital locums, before deciding to train as a General Practitioner. Dr Hales worked at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital Trust in London, doing Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and received her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College in 1996. Time was then spent training as a GP, and she passed her MRCGP exams in 1997. She worked as a GP in Holborn, London, before then becoming a Partner in a Practice in Balham, London – The Thurleigh Road Medical Centre. This was a busy practice, which had around 11000 patients, and Dr Hales saw many young families, many pregnant and postnatal women, general family and sports medicine, as well as looking after the Diabetics in the practice. After 15 years as a Partner, she and her husband and 2 children decided to come back to Perth to live. She joined Claremont Medical Centre in October 2014
