Dr Aninda Banerjea (GP)

After graduating from Delhi, India in 2001 Dr Banerjea has been working in the UK as a doctor for the last twelve years. He did his General Practice Vocational Training in the UK and was awarded Membership of Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP, UK) in 2007, Diploma of Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH, UK) in 2006, Membership of College of Family Physicians Canada (MCFP, Canada) in 2013 and Fellowship with Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FAEG, Australia) in 2015.

For the last nine years he has worked as a Family Physician in the UK with extensive experience in primary care in various roles as a GP Principal (full time partner in an urban GP Practice), Trainer (trained GP Registrars undergoing GP vocational training and working towards MRCGP) and an Appraiser (appraising GP peers). In addition to the above roles Dr Banerjea also worked as a GP in the Accident and Emergency Department at the local hospital and in the after-hours primary care clinics in the UK. Dr Banerjea has previously worked as a Monitor for World Health Organisation while in India. Dr Banerjea has received additional training in Mental Health [Section 12(2) approved Doctor UK], Gynaecology, Family planning, Diabetes and Palliative care. His areas of special interest include dealing with medical complexities, management of Anxiety / Depression, Paediatrics, Chronic Disease management (like Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Congestive Heart Failure, Allergies etc) and Care of Elderly.

Dr Banerjea strongly believes in the ethos of mutual respect, collaborative approach and striving to provide a high quality patient centred holistic primary healthcare.

Outside work Dr Banerjea is kept occupied with his family with two young kids. He is passionate about dramatics and has been involved in several stage shows as an amateur artist. Meditation is another hobby that he cherishes!

NB- Dr Banerjea can comfortably consult in English, Hindi and Bengali.

He can also comprehend Urdu, Punjabi and Sylheti.
