Clinical Interests

Angela’s interest and experience lies in treating inflammatory joint pain, including juvenile idiopathic arthritis(JIA) and reactive arthritis. She is also experienced in treating connective tissue diseases such as paediatric lupus and vasculitis and non-inflammatory musculoskeletal pain, including mechanical joint pain, sports injuries and paediatric rehabilitation.

She also sees and treats children suffering pain syndromes – including chronic pain, fibromyalgia and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).

Background and Experience

Angela is originally from Tasmania and graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2000. She completed her basic paediatric training through the Royal Children’s Hospital and completed her advanced training as consultant paediatric rheumatologist at both the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital.

She has been practicing as a consultant rheumatologist since 2010 and works at both the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital. She has experience working within Paediatric Rehabilitation services at Monash Children’s Hospital and is involved in medical student teaching as a clinical tutor at Monash University.

She believes in maintaining continual communication between patients and families and members of their treating team including medical and allied health staff, and liaising with children’s schools when necessary.
