Dr. Andrew Singer is a psychiatrist who also has specialist qualifications in Pain Medicine and Psychoanalysis. After completing his medical degree at the University of New South Wales, Dr. Singer worked in psychiatry in the United Kingdom and in Sydney.
He was awarded a New South Wales Institute of Psychiatry Research Fellowship for two years to investigate the use of brain imaging technologies in psychiatric conditions. He qualified as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 1989. Dr. Singer has been a Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry at the Pain Management and Research Centre at Royal North Shore Hospital since 2000.
