Dr Andrew Shaw is a medical graduate of the University of Queensland. He undertook his specialist ophthalmology training in the United Kingdom and is a fellow of the London Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He has expertise in the surgical and medical treatment of retinal conditions following 3 years of fellowship training. These include 2 years at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne, and a further 12 months at the Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia.

Dr Shaw is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists.

Dr Shaw has specialist interests in the diagnosis and treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, vitreous haemorrhage, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, retinal tears and retinal detachments and is available for urgent referrals. He is a visiting consultant at both Monash and The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospitals and consults privately at Armadale Eye Clinic and Bass Coast Eye Centre.
