Dr Andrew Pickering trained initially at Leicester University and qualified as a doctor in England. Andy trained at Leicester and world-famous St James Hospital (Jimmy's) in Leeds before relocating to Sydney where he completed further training at Royal North Shore Hospital culminating in being awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Andy also spent time working in the Legal Profession and gained a Masters of Health Law from Nottingham Law School
Andy is currently a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney. Andy actively involves himself in the teaching of medical students from both the Univesity of Sydney and Notra Dame Medical School.
Andy uses his experience in both the NHS and Public Health care here in Australia to support women in all their birth choices. Andy is happy supporting both high and low risk mothers through their journey into motherhood.
Andy recognises the importance of caring for women experiencing complications of early pregnancy and is happy to arrange urgent consults in this area. Andy supports all options available for management of early pregnancy complications, including surgical, medical and conservative management.
Andy is happy to consult on the full range of Gynecological presentations. Andy has expertise in managing menstrual disorders and contraception. Andy has an interest in Minimally Invasive Gynecology, Gynecological Laparoscopy and Endometriosis.
Andy during his training worked in the Urogynecology and Menopause clinics at Royal North Shore Hospital and is happy to advise on menopausal symptoms and pelvic organ prolapse. Andy is an accredited colposcopist, as such is happy to see you following an abnormal Cervical Screening Test, he will arrange further investigations and treatment as required.
