Dr Andrew Binns is one of the founders of Gurgun Bulahnggelah (now Jullums AMS) and has been in general practice in Lismore since 1979. He is medical editor of the NRGPN magazine GPSpeak. He is also the inaugural chairman of the Australian Lifestyle Medicine Association and has always had an interest in lifestyle medicine. Dr Binns has co-authored two books with Prof Garry Egger, 'The Experts Weight Loss Guide' and 'Lifestyle Medicine' the latter of which had another co-author Swedish Prof Stephan Rossner. He has also in the past been medical director of the Palliative Care Unit at St Vincent's Hospital Lismore.
