Mr Anand Ramakrishnan is a Plastic Surgeon with expertise in the full breadth of Paediatric and Adult Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Mr Anand Ramakrishnan obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from the University of Melbourne (1996) and then undertook 12 years of rigorous postgraduate training in order to become a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in 2008. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, International Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Mr Anand Ramakrishnan then pursued Paediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowships at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada and The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Currently, Mr Anand Ramakrishnan is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Royal Melbourne and Alfred Hospitals where he performs Head and Neck microsurgical reconstruction as well as managing complex facial trauma. Mr Anand Ramakrishnan has a fellowship in Microsurgery through the Bernard O’Brien Institute of Microsurgery as well as a Doctorate of Medicine for work on Stem Cell biology through the University of Melbourne.
Mr Anand Ramakrishnan is a member of Interplast Australia and New Zealand and devotes time each year to performing reconstructive surgery through the Asia Pacific region. He has a Master of Public Health in International and Refugee Health through the MacFarlane Burnett School of Public Health, Monash University. Anand convened the Plastic Surgery and Craniomaxillofacial sections of the 2012 Australasian Scientific Congress of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Mr Anand Ramakrishnan’s other passions include being a dad, traveling and hiking, long distance running and South Indian Cooking. He speaks Tamil and maintains cultural ties with his country of birth, India.
