Dr Drach graduated with a Bachelor in Psychology - Clinical Psychology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). She worked as a Clinical Psychologist for several years in private practice and consulted in the Psychiatry Service, at Samaritano Hospital in Sao Paulo. This service provided psychotherapy for general patients and their families, including psychotherapy for patients with Post-Natal Depression.
Dr Drach completed her medical training in Santa Casa, Sao Paulo (Brazil). She has worked was at the University of Sao Paulo and continued her specialty training in Psychiatry in Melbourne, initially at The Early Psychosis Centre, in Parkville, and subsequently continuing her training at the Austin & Repatriation Hospitals.
Dr Drach has developed a special interest in Early Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Perinatal Mental Health, Mood Disorders and Eating Disorders. She has attended more than 40 international scientific congresses, being a member of the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry and has lived in Australia for thirteen years.
Dr Drach became a fellow of the RANZCP in 2008. She has worked as a consultant Psychiatrist for Austin Health in secure extended care and for their Mental Heath Team and has worked in her own private practice, both in Australia and Brazil.
