Dr Alison Brand is a Certified Gynaecological Oncologist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. She has been a senior staff specialist at Westmead since 2000. She is a fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She manages all aspects of patients with gynaecological malignancies. Her interests include clinical trials in gynaecological oncology, hereditary gynaecological cancers, laparoscopic surgery, and psychosexual side effects of gynaecological cancer treatment. She holds numerous positions within Australian and New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (Clinical Trials Group) and is Chair-elect. She is also Chair of the Cancer Australia Working Party on the development of clinical practice guidelines for the management of women with endometrial cancer.
