Dr Adam Brown is a general and academic interventional cardiologist who assesses patients with cardiovascular disease. In particular, he has a sub-speciality interest in the management and risk stratification of patients with coronary artery disease.

Adam is currently the interim Deputy Director and Head of Acute Cardiac Services at Monash Health. He treats private patients at St John of God in Berwick, Jessie McPherson Private and Holmesglen Private Hospitals.

Adam graduated from the University of Cambridge and undertook his cardiology training at the internationally renowned Papworth Hospital in Cambridge. His PhD at the University of Cambridge focused on developing novel technologies that improve our ability to identify patients at highest risk of heart attacks. Adam moved to Melbourne in 2016 to pursue an interventional fellowship at MonashHeart. He has a major interest in using intravascular diagnostic therapies to improve the outcomes of patients undergoing angioplasty and regularly teaches on the topic throughout Australia.

Adam also has a strong interest in cardiovascular research and he currently leads coronary interventional research at MonashHeart. His academic work is funded through competitive grants obtained from the National Health and Medical Research Council and the National Heart Foundation. Adam has published over 125 peer reviewed journal articles, written 4 book chapters and is the direct supervisor of five PhD students at Monash University.

In his spare time, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife and young family. He tries to keep active as much as possible on his bike and still enjoys a game of golf when the weather permits!
