Dr David Di Fiore is a cardiologist at Bundaberg Cardiology specialising in interventional cardiology.
Dr Di Fiore completed a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery at The University of Adelaide in 2003. He then underwent advanced cardiology training at Lyell McEwin Health Service and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide. Following his training, he worked as a Consultant Cardiologist and Acute Medical Unit Consultant at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and practised as a Visiting Cardiologist in Ceduna, Whyalla and Ardrossan, South Australia. It was at this time that he undertook a PhD investigating the predictors and outcomes of coronary artery spasm in addition to gaining expertise in intracoronary spasm provocation and vasoreactivity testing.
Dr Di Fiore further developed his interventional expertise at MonashHeart as an Interventional Cardiology Fellow, where he assisted with the smooth running of the interventional fellowship programme, educational programme and review of quality control data. During this time he obtained certification as a level A specialist in CT coronary angiography.
He was also an Associate Lecturer at The University of Adelaide, with involvement in medical student and resident medical staff teaching and supervision. He has presented research in various publications and peer-reviewed journals.
His special interests include the assessment and management of anginal syndromes with non-obstructive coronary arteries, and coronary vasoreactivity testing in coronary disorders.
Dr Di Fiore joins Bundaberg Cardiology in March 2018.
