Centacare
For more than 50 years Centacare Brisbane has been the social services arm of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Brisbane working in partnership with various levels of government and the community. A workforce of more than 3000, including volunteers, responds to local needs from over 200 small service sites throughout southeast Queensland touching the lives of more than 150,000 people each year. We aim to ensure our clients feel welcomed, supported and treated with dignity each time they access our services. We strive to deliver professional and accountable services while empowering our clients to find solutions and achieve their goals. In this work we acknowledge the support and assistance of our funding partners including various Australian and Queensland government departments. Government funding makes it possible for Centacare to reach those requiring relationship, disability, child care and community support. Centacare also relies significantly on volunteers and donations for its non-government funded Pastoral Ministries work in prisons, hospitals, psychiatric pastoral care and Indigenous communities.
