A/Prof Munjed Al Muderis, MB ChB FRACS, FAOrthA, is an orthopaedic surgeon, an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Medicine, Sydney Campus at the University of Notre Dame Australia and a clinical lecturer at Macquarie University and The Australian School Of Advanced Medicine, specialising in Hip, Knee and Trauma Surgery for the adult and paediatric population. He has special expertise in hip arthroscopy, for femoral-acetabular impingement syndrome as well as soft tissue damage to the hip. Orthopaedic Surgeon, Munjed Al Muderis has formal training in Europe on the anterior approach to total hip replacement. Anterior Minimally Invasive Hip Surgery is gaining significant popularity worldwide. He also has special interest in ACL reconstruction using anatomy preserving technology and total knee replacement using computerised navigation technology. Munjed Al Muderis is one of only a handful of orthopaedic surgeons world-wide who has a special expertise in trans-femoral and trans-humeral amputations. He is able to provide his patients with robotic artificial limbs using transcutaneous osseointegration technology. This is designed to be as close to the human anatomy as possible. Munjed Al Muderis is the founder of the Osseointegration Group of Australia and established a monthly osseointegration clinic at the Macquarie University Hospital.
