Dr Euan Walpole received his M.B.B.S with Honours from the University of Queensland’s Faculty of Medicine in 1980 and spent the first four years of his career at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Woolloongabba, Brisbane. During 1985/86, Dr Walpole spent time as a registrar in Haematology and Medical Oncology at the Peter McCallum Cancer Institute in Melbourne before returning to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where in 1988 he became a Locum Medical Oncologist. During the following years was a visiting Fellow in Oncology at the Montefiore Medical Centre/Albert Einstein Cancer Center, New York.
Dr Walpole currently holds the position of Medical Director – Cancer Services for the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Southern Area Health Service. He is also Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, University of Queensland, has an Honorary Associate of the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, University of Sydney and is a Visiting Medical Officer at Mt Olivet Hospital, Mater Private Hospital and Brisbane Private Hospital.
