Archana completed her Master of Clinical Psychology degree at the Australian National University. She has worked with individuals across the developmental span, and is particularly interested in providing mental health services to children, adolescents and their families. In her previous roles at the Paediatric Acute Support Service in the Canberra Hospital, the ANU Clinic, and the ANU Counselling centre, she worked with a range of clinical presentations, including but not limited to: anxiety disorders, stress related symptoms, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, elimination disorders (urinary incontinence/and or faecal soiling), sleep difficulties, eating disorders, conduct problems, oppositional defiance, and psychological distress associated with medical conditions.

She has also previously worked in non-governmental organisations to provide assessments and interventions for children with intellectual disabilities, learning disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and ADHD.

Archana’s previous research projects have explored factors affecting CBT outcome in Paediatric OCD and early behavioural interventions for children with Autism. Prior to qualifying as a Psychologist, Archana gathered clinically relevant experience in roles such as a suicide prevention and crisis support helpline volunteer, a co-facilitator of problem solving and resilience building workshops for school aged children, and an early intervention volunteer for children with Autism and their families.

Archana is passionate about tailoring evidence based interventions to suit client needs, and utilising individual strengths to address skill deficits. Her preferred intervention modalities are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Behavioural and Attachment based Parent Training, Person Centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Motivational Interviewing.

She has also had experience with integrating child friendly approaches, such as play and narrative therapy, to forge stronger rapport and engagement, and to optimise therapeutic outcomes. She is committed to working collaboratively with clients to help them develop lasting skills to achieve their goals, and enhance their wellbeing.
