Andi completed a double degree, majoring in Psychology and Human Resource Management, before completing an Honours and Masters in Psychology at the University of Queensland. She is fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and College of Organisational Psychologists (COP). Andi’s therapeutic approach avoids a ‘one size fits all’ mindset, instead incorporating different science-based practices to achieve holistic outcomes; her approach includes Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), schema therapy, coaching, goal-setting and mindfulness. Andi has over decade of experience, and has worked with a diverse range of clients from different cultural backgrounds, as well as those experiencing non-conforming gender identity. She has also worked to assist long-term unemployed navigate the road back into work, assisted clients and families to manage chronic illness and grief, helped to reduce the effect of trauma and PTSS, and worked with couples to manage relationship difficulties. Andi has a keen interest in working with anyone seeking a change or improvement in their lives. Andi has worked in a range of settings, including government, corporate, and private practice. -- Seeing a psychologist for the first time can be daunting, so I do everything I can to help make it easier for you to take that first step to better health. Life throws us challenges that we aren’t prepared for, because parents and schools can’t teach us everything we might ever need to know, that would be impossible! Whatever you’re going through, however you’re struggling, it isn’t your fault, and it’s perfectly normal to need my help to work out what to do next. My motto is ‘if you change nothing, nothing changes’. If you’ve decided you want your life to be different, I can guide you until you feel ready to continue your journey without me. The holistic tools and strategies I can teach you, will last a lifetime. I’d love nothing better than being without a job one day because everyone has excellent mental health! -- Andi (Amanda) Williams, Psychologist
