Dr Scott Patterson trained at the University of Melbourne and the Austin Health Gastroenterology and Liver Transplant Units. His doctorate focused on clinical studies in complex chronic Hepatitis B infected patients. He is a visiting specialist at Austin in both the Gastroenterology and General Medicine units. He is also Director of Physician Education at Austin and is completing a Masters degree in Clinical Education at the University of Melbourne.
He has a broad specialist interest, including viral hepatitis (Hepatitis B and C), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), peptic ulcer disease (PUD) and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD). He has admitting rights and regular endoscopy lists at Waringal Private Hospital and is an experienced endoscopist; certified in gastroscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy.
